ABOUT YOUR PT

Dr. Alyssa Stanford, PT, DPT, OCS
Alyssa was born and raised in Tupelo, MS, and played collegiate soccer at Itawamba Community College. She then went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from The University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!). While at Ole Miss, she worked as a student assistant to the athletic trainers for the women's soccer team. After graduation, she moved to Nashville and attended Belmont University where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
After her time at Belmont, Alyssa worked in outpatient orthopedics for over 2 years. During this time, she became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS). An OCS signifies that she has specialized knowledge in treating musculoskeletal conditions, injuries, and disorders, such as those affecting the bones, muscles, joints, and ligaments. This certification shows a higher level of expertise in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating orthopedic issues compared to a general physical therapist.
Alyssa has spent years on the soccer field, in the gym, and running. Her love for being active and moving is what inspired her to learn more about the human body and become a physical therapist! Her love for soccer and weightlifting resulted in her taking a special interest in active people who want to continue to stay active. She is passionate about helping people return to whatever activity they love to do because she understands what it is like to have to sit on the sidelines due to an injury.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys working out at Iron Tribe Fitness, cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels and the Nashville Soccer Club, and taking care of her dog, Jo!
